We are seeking an Accounting Administrator to join our team, who has a tremendous work ethic, a keen eye for detail, a positive attitude, exhibits emotional intelligence and is committed to continual professional improvement! We are looking for an individual who has worked in accounting, is fluent in using Microsoft Excel and Word, can take direction, and is exacting in their work. Experience with QuickBooks and a knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles is required. We offer flexible hours and an accommodating work schedule. This person will be responsible for all financial and bookkeeping aspects of our jewelry store chain, Bailey, Banks and Biddle, that includes five retail stores. Salary negotiable based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily accounting operations: processing the daily sales business; this includes keeping accurate financial spreadsheets, updating daily sales spreadsheets, making deposits, etc.
  • Own the month and year end close processes
  • Produce financial statements
  • Prepares and assists with company budgets and forecasts
  • Manage cash flow projections
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits
  • Maintain an established and documented system of accounting policies and procedures
  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
  • Reconcile and enter vendor invoices
  • Process vendor payments, pull invoices, and print checks
  • Reconcile vendor statements
  • Enter deposits and monthly loan payments in QuickBooks
  • Open and sort the mail

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of bookeeping, financial and/or accounting experience
  • Proficiency in Micosoft Excel and Word, QuickBooks, and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, proportions, and apply concepts of basic algebra
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, strong organizational skills, and being deadline and detail-oriented is a must
  • Have a helpful, positive "I can" attitude while at work and be willing to come in early/stay late for training or stay late if needed on special projects.
  • Be compliant with all general store policies, rules, & guidelines.
